This drawing first came to our attention in 2023 when the Kunstmuseum Basel in Switzerland prepared an exhibition with an accompanying catalogue of Jasper John's private collection: "Jasper Johns — The Artist as Collector," 30 September 2023 – 4 February 2024. The artwork image was provided by the museum and taken by photographer Jerry L. Thompson.
